Anouncing the newest release from Relief Records NYC, NARHED; OUT ON A ROCK. The record release party will be held at Joes's Pub at 425 Lafayette St. in Manhattan on March 29th @11pm. This will be a no cover event with complimentary Champagne.

RELIEF RECORDS NYC, a small up and coming New York based independent record label/ recording studio, is proud to announce the release of its first full production. NARHED; OUT ON A ROCK was conceived and recorded in Brooklyn by singer/ songwriter Dehran Duckworth with the help of the mighty bass player/ engineer Francky "Mweley" Moulet ( Tony Allen, Mano Dibango, Jimmy Cliff, Papa Wemba). All of the material is completely original and spins a genre-spanning tale of beats and rhymes, poems and fat horn lines. The 9 piece band to do the album justice is packed with talent from greats like Jojo Kuo, One of Fela Kutis original trap drummers, (also Mano Dibango, Antibalas), to rocker Izzy Zaidman on guitar (Unclefuckers, Bam Bam, Seventh Sense) and of course Francky Moulet on bass. Then with a class horn section that has toured with everyone from Lauren Hill to the Harlem Gospel Singers (Kenyatta Beasley and Deji Koker) and Keys and backup vocals by Ado Fukuhara (Monique Seka, Delmar Brown), JOES PUB on Lafayette st. in Manhattan is going to be the place to be for this debut performance on Monday the 29th of March! This event is endorsed by ANIMAL NEW YORK magazine which has a long history of packing the house for visual art and music in venues such as SHOW, LOTUS, the EICKHOLT GALLERY on Howard St., The CORAL ROOM, SOMA gallery, The RED BULL gallery on Franklin St., and other diverse locations around the city.

March 29, 2004--On March 29th NARHED makes their debut New York appearance at Joes Pub on Lafayette St.in Manhattan at 11Pm

Their debut album OUT ON A ROCK on Relief Records has been described as a montage of urban contemporary African, Reggae, and World Fusion Music. A style that is like none other.

OUT ON A ROCK has emerged as one of the first of its kind for the 21st century blending genre and flavor to present an auditory kaleidoscope of poetry and beats, fat horn and bass lines, and classic crooning soliloquies. Inside you'll find enough diversity to classify it how you want, or not. Enough to say it's a kind of world blend that could find itself in a few different aisles and stand up straight in any one of them. OUT ON A ROCK is confused but not lost, a comprehensive collection of worldly music mercenaries put to the test of translating Dehran Duckworth's musical mumblings in RELIEF RECORDS NYC's very own living room, its a home production on steroids mixed at MERCREDI 9 studios in Paris by FRANCKY MOULET and FRED CARRAYOL and mastered by WILL QUINELL at STERLING SOUND in New York.

NARHED; OUT ON a ROCK is available at any major record store by order, amazon.com, cdbaby.com, cdstreet.com, itunes.com, and reliefrecordsnyc.com.
